Critical Warning for Visa-Free Travelers
Visa exemptions cannot be extended inside Vietnam. If you plan to stay longer than your allotted days, you MUST apply for an E-Visa prior to arrival.

Airport Arrival Protocol
Master the exact sequence at Tan Son Nhat (HCMC) and Noi Bai (Hanoi) to clear border control efficiently and avoid common rookie delays.
1. Health Check & Pre-Arrival Form
As of April 2026, present the digital QR code from your Pre-Arrival Declaration Form (filled within 72 hours of departure at prearrival.immigration.gov.vn). This is currently strictly enforced at HCMC (Tan Son Nhat) and highly recommended for Hanoi.
2. Immigration Passport Control
Join the E-Visa / Foreign Passenger queue. Present your physical passport (must have 6+ months validity), a printed A4 copy of your E-Visa (digital copies on phones often cause delays), and your pre-arrival QR code.
3. Baggage Claim & X-Ray
Descend to the luggage carousel. Before entering the public arrivals hall, ALL baggage must pass through a final customs X-ray scanner.
VIP Fast Track Services
During peak Winter travel seasons, immigration queues at Tan Son Nhat (SGN) and Noi Bai (HAN) can take 1-3 hours. Commercial Fast Track services allow you to bypass these lines entirely.
